About the Artist
Biography
Isabelle Devos has been a painter for more than 25 years and exhibits regularly with regional and commercial galleries in Sydney, across New South Wales as well as in Queensland. Her work is in the collection of the Art Bank in Canada and the University of New England in Australia as well as part of international collections. Most recently, the State Library of NSW has acquired one of Devos’ sketchbooks from the 2021 Panorama Project.
Devos was the 2020 recipient of the Helen Dangar Memorial Artist Bursary and has recently received a grant from Arts North West to work on landscapes of local national parks. In 2021 she was awarded an artist residency with writer Helena Pastor at Gunyah Artist Residency.
Isabelle Devos has won the Unpacker’s Award at the Norvill Art Prize and the Still Life award in the Armidale Art Prize. Her work has been chosen as a finalist in several major Australian landscape awards including the Country Energy Landscape Prize and the Calleen Art Award. In 2003 Isabelle achieved international media attention for a conceptual photography project titled The Insecurities Project, with articles in Italian Vogue, New York Times and interviews on National Public Radio in USA, and BBC Radio.
