A long-standing art prize showcasing innovative landscape works across Australia.
WHAT IS THE TATTERSALL'S LANDSCAPE ART PRIZE?
Established in 1990, the Tattersall’s Club Art Prize has a long and prestigious history of celebrating excellence in Australian art. After a brief sabbatical, Lethbridge Gallery is delighted to partner with Tattersall’s Club to bring this beloved award back for 2026.
With a $30,000 major prize, a three-stop travelling exhibition, and the introduction of a Residency Award, the 2026 Tattersall’s Club Art Prize marks an exciting new chapter in the prize’s legacy—continuing its tradition of recognising artistic talent while creating new opportunities for artists across Australia.
This award invites all artistic interpretations of the Australian landscape—from the conventional to the unusual, and from the monumental to the intricate. The definition of ‘landscape’ has been extended to include urbanscapes and interiors, encouraging artists to explore diverse environments.
The Residency Award
The Lethbridge Residency Award is an ongoing initiative dedicated to support Australian artists and their practice. Located in the heart of Paddington QLD, the residency takes place in an artist studio and living space next to Lethbridge Gallery, functioning both as a creative haven and unique neighbourhood space.
Running for 5-weeks, the residency program is designed to provide artists quality time and space to produce a new body of work and a platform to connect with the broader community. Through studio spaces, artist-run workshops, public events and an outcome exhibition, the artist will receive a well-rounded art-making experience.
